Latest news from the Black Book – a global representation platform for Black and non-white people working in hospitality – is a series of events for Black History Month.
Every Tuesday throughout October, a day of workshops, masterclasses, cookalongs and more will take place with the intention of promoting its core values of Visibility, Equality, Equity and Wealth Creation in a dynamic way. The events will be an opportunity to support, nurture and address topics that impact Black Book’s community.
The events follow the popular eight-week online series, ‘De-colonising the food industry’, during which speakers explored the work required to change inequalities in hospitality and food. The second series celebrates Black History Month by showcasing the future of Black histories in food.
First up on 6 October, founder of Ariatu PR Ronke Lawal will discuss the topic of PR and Nepotism, Melissa Thompson and Zoe Adjonyoh discuss pre- and post-recent BLM events and Joe Faulkner of The Krio Kanteen hosts a cook-along. Other speakers include Jimi Famurewa, Eden Hagos and Nina Oduro.
Full ticket bundle with access to all of the daily events is £30. Start booking your places and get more details of the events here.
