It’s one of those sites you often pass and wonder why it isn’t used more often – now the imposing listed building One Marylebone (opposite Great Portland Street tube) is to become a new ‘multi-experiential space’. This will incorporate a Tel Aviv-inspired restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating – including greenhouses – a silent cinema, a fitness space which promises to be futuristic, dance classes and an art gallery. There will also be a weekend market.
The enterprise has the name Chameleon and is the work of the experienced operator Alex Ghalleb, who was a managing partner at Gold in Notting Hill, and both Grind and Soho House previously.
The first phase of Chameleon opens in January; a private members’ club will launch later in the year.
