As restaurants opened their doors again last week, it’s good to hear of new openings across the UK once more. One such restaurant is Homestead, a new collaboration from chef Sven-Hanson Britt and hospitality management company Unlocked. Opening its doors this Thursday, Homestead is located on new development London City Island (aka Leamouth peninsula).
It has been operating as a takeaway since 17 November but will now be open to diners from 7am till 10pm serving breakfast, set lunches and dinner, alongside a grocery store. Showcasing produce from small-scale suppliers, the breakfast menu includes Dorset crab or smoked ham hock crumpet and vanilla soufflé’s pancakes.
There’s a set lunch menu on offer too, but it looks like dinner will be the star of the show. With meat sourced from British farmers and local day boat fish, expect dishes such as smoked Devon eel, slow-cooked lamb shoulder and BBQ quail with spiced pair. There is also a dedicated bar menu, perhaps inspired by the ‘substantial meal rule’, featuring Korean chicken wings and fish fritters.
To celebrate its launch, Homestead will run a soft launch offer on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 December, offering 50% off all food if you book in advance. To find out more or book a table, visit the website here
