Pascor, a new Aegean restaurant on Kensington High Street, has the kind of menu that might be more at home when we’re on holiday, but since that’s out of the question right now, it could be the next best thing.
The restaurant, which when open will have a refined version of a taverna feel to its interior, combines the cooking styles of countries on the Aegean coast – including Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, and Turkey. The owners say the focus is on mangal cooking using high-quality ingredients, and like many holiday restaurants, there will be a selection of small and larger sharing plates. (Which makes us feel wistful about sharing…)
Customers can expect a meze section with clay-baked bread, wood fired babaganoush with toasted almonds and Cyprian tzatziki. Larger dishes include Spanish grilled octopus with blood orange, smoked brown butter cauliflower and slow cooked short rib of beef. We’re also intrigued by the baklava cheesecake for dessert…
Pascor is available now for delivery and will open the doors to its 48-cover restaurant as soon as it gets the go ahead.
