May is expected to be a busy month for hospitality, so it’s no wonder restaurants are planning ahead and have announced some new pop-ups to get guests excited about dining out again.
First up is a new launch from Corinthia London, where a second alfresco terrace will open on 12 April. Kerridge’s Garden Grill will pop-up for one month only on a mezzanine directly above the garden. Head chef Nick Beardshaw will be cooking from a grill on the terrace, with dishes including grilled scallop with asparagus, Cornish day boat turbot and Amalfi lemon tart.
Next, Soho’s The Palomar is launching a ‘Postcard From Home’ pop-up, a 36-seater terrace based on Mediterranean market bars. The food will be similar to the signature dishes served in the restaurant, with a selection of rip-and-dip breads and started to have alongside some drinks. The terrace will be open during the summer months, alongside the restaurant when open in May. Sister restaurant The Barbary also has a new and intimate outdoor set up, accommodating 16 guests at a time. It will be open for one month from 16 April, serving a selection of small plates.
Coppa Club is relaunching its spring igloos in Tower Bridge, Brighton and Cobham, which will each seat six people. We’re told they will reflect ‘the essence of spring’, so expect lots of flowers in bloom and seasonal food. There’s also lots of new outdoor dining spots to look forward to – including Stevie Parle’s new seafood terrace at Joy and Sussex Bar & Restaurants oyster and vermouth bar – which you can read about here.
