It isn’t just the shopping that fans of Harrods have missed, but also its huge food and drink offering. Now, it is expanding more with the opening Baccarat Bar in partnership with the French crystal brand of the same name.
Located on the lower ground floor of the Knightsbridge store, the 23-seater Baccarat Bar is designed to be an intimate setting for guests, replicating “the timeless luxury” it is renowned for. Dating back to 1764, Baccarat has become synonymous with craftsmanship, something the bar will seek to replicate through its glasses and interiors.
Created by Fabled Sutdio, the bar has been designed around the idea of being a room within Maison Baccarat in Paris, paying homage to some of the brand’s most celebrated pieces, including crystal lighting, marble flooring and upholstery in itssignature red.
Cameron Attfield will lead the bar team, offering 20 signature drinks, including four non-alcoholic options. There will also be a range of wines, Champagnes, spirits and beers available, as well as food prepared by Harrods’ in-house chefs.
“The opening of the Baccarat Bar marks the re-introduction of Harrods restaurants following the unprecedented closure of the store over the course of the global pandemic and is a true celebration of the reunion between Harrods and its loyal customers”, says director of food and home Chris Dee. He adds “launching the Baccarat Bar provides us with the opportunity to open a dedicated cocktail bar that complements the iconic Harrods experience.”
President and CEO of Baccarat Jack Sun adds “the iconic shell of Harrods is the perfect cocoon for this new bar”, telling guests to expect “unique drinks and the most interesting food, immersed in the beauty of cool and refined environment.”
