It’s been great to see the clever ways hospitality businesses have supported their staff’s wellbeing during the various lockdowns over the past year. From Stevie Parle selling t-shirts to support the team at Pastaio to D&D launching an online platform to support its workforce and Le Bab offering its kitchens for staff to prepare food and keep the profits, CODE has loved hearing about different things companies are doing to keep the team connected.
This time it’s the Social Pantry team – one of London’s top event caterers and who are behind the successful neighbourhood spots Cranes Kitchen in Peckham and Social Pantry Cafe in Battersea – who have decided to start a weekly virtual yoga class for the team while on furlough. Recognising that everyone in the industry needs some down time at the moment, they have opened up the initiative to the wider industry.
The classes are free for those that work in the hospitality and will take place every Monday until the end of February at 7:30am to start the week off on a good note. Each class will last 45 minutes and is taken by yoga teacher Tori King via Zoom. “We really want to be able to help and have a positive impact during these tough times,” says the team. “Exercise and movement are key.”
There are 100 spaces allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. To register your interest, please email [email protected] and you will be sent the details.
