Society Manchester to launch in the spring

As we look ahead at 2021, we are all hoping that by spring we’ll start to see hospitality businesses back open and finding their feet once more. It’s encouraging to hear that the indefinite lockdown hasn’t stopped some operators going ahead with their opening plans – and this time it’s good news for Manchester. From the founders of Assembly Underground in Leeds, Society in Manchester is a new food and entertainment space opening in March.

The huge new all-day space is set to be a hub for street food, craft beer, wine and cocktails. Expect five independent kitchens, a cocktail bar and specialist taproom, as well as traders including pan-Asian specialists Manzoku, Falafel Guys and founders of local restaurant Elect with their new concept Dokes Pizzeria.

Society will be open from 10am daily, with space for 350 guests – but it sounds like night time is the time to visit. With resident DJ’s on hand, the venue will host a series of events including food and drink collaborations and live music events.

We like that Society is offering a platform to local independent businesses who would usually be unable to trade from a city centre location, and the team is also working with local artist Victoria Topping to transform the space. “It’s so important to us to create a destination that showcases the very best of Manchester and Society will be just that” says co-founder Nick Gregory.
