When CODE caught up with Rick and Katie Toogood back in August, they were nervously preparing to launch ‘Prawn on the Farm.’ With their Padstow sight remaining shut due to social distance difficulties, the duo behind Prawn on the Lawn decided to relocate and move the restaurant to a Treethern farm nearby. Following a very successful first year, it’s good to hear that the pop-up is returning.
With a plan to open in mid-April (depending on restrictions), the team will be setting up a 52-seater marquee about a mile from Padstow for the duration of the summer. There will also be outdoor seating, and more space to allow for walk-ins to enjoy small plates and cocktails.
The daily changing menu will celebrate Cornish seafood, so guests can expect seafood platters, crab and lobster, as well as seasonal fish such as Cornish sole. There’s also oysters and mussels available, grown in the estuary that the marquee overlooks.
“It’s been such a journey creating this Cornish seafood al fresco love-affair” say Rick and Katie. “We are so excited to be back for another year and Prawn on the Farm round 2 is going to bigger, better and more delicious than before.”
