CODE’s Employee of the Month for November is Mesha Campbell, waitress at Zelman Meats
I realised I wanted to work in hospitality seven years ago when I was 18. I couldn’t find a college course I was passionate about but refused to leave college with nothing so choose to do a Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Hospitality and loved it.
First of all, it was in a location I love to work in (Soho). I love the buzz the area has and the secret locations you can discover, so that got me excited. And because the menu was simple I knew that meant there’s room to add extras to people’s plate e.g my personality, my humour and an experience.
Literally everyday people. What inspires me? Touching lives in a positive way, taking some of the weight from each person I meet, we all seem to carry personal baggage around on a daily basis, I love just letting someone know: “Hey, I’m happy to take that weight off your shoulders, would you like it hang up or in put it in the office?”

In five years I would like to be a team leader/head of a department that specialises in making every single individual they come across not feel alone and treated with integrity in whatever circumstance they’re facing.
Wherever I’m working baby! Cornershop in Shoreditch is alright though.
If you have a colleague going above and beyond their call of duty, send your nomination to [email protected].
