Salt sprinkling, steak-slapping Salt Bae, real name Nusret Gökçe, finally opened the doors to his much-anticipated London restaurant today.
The new Nusr-et, which faced continued delays due to pandemic-related reasons, has found a home on the ground floor of The Park Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge.
The chef, who found fame after sprinkling rock salt down his arm from a height, has spent the summer touring his other Nusr-et outposts, including popular locations in Mykonos and Dubai.
From a young age, Gökçe worked in the butchery industry, starting as an apprentice in the Kadikoy district of Istanbul, and has a long family history of the trade.
Celebrities like David Beckham, Andrea Bocelli, and Al Pacino are all Salt Bae fans, and can all be seen alongside the salt-sprinkler on his very popular Instagram account, @nusr_et, which has more than 38 million followers.
With many outlets reporting that Gökçe is bringing his £700 gold-smothered tomahawk to the capital, will Londoners cough up? Only time will tell.
