The Role
As a pivotal member of our front-of-house team, you will support the Operations Manager in leading and developing a high-performing cafe team. You will ensure the smooth and efficient running of daily operations, maintaining first-class service while becoming a familiar and friendly face for our customers and members.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operations and Service

  • Implement and support operational strategies/decisions made by the Operations Manager to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Supervise the cafe team and day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service and excellent customer experiences.
  • Be the primary point of contact for cafe customers, handling feedback, resolving issues, and escalating concerns as needed, ensuring a seamless experience for all guests.
  • Prepare the cafe for service, ensuring stock availability, POS system functionality, PDQ machine readiness, and cleanliness.
  • Oversee coffee quality throughout service to uphold high standards. Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Uphold and ensure team compliance with company service standards outlined in the Staff Handbook, fostering a consistent and high-quality guest experience.
  • Manage stock and inventory needs, ensuring availability, maintaining stock levels, and placing orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor the cafe team, assigning tasks and providing ongoing guidance to enhance service quality and efficiency.
  • Deputize for the Operations Manager when required.

2. Member Engagement & Service Excellence

  • Uphold impeccable service standards, guiding the team in delivering an exceptional member experience.
  • Build strong relationships with club members, addressing inquiries and handling complaints professionally, ensuring their engagement and satisfaction with club services.
  • Maintain open communication with management regarding any member concerns or feedback.
  • Foster a culture of engagement with the membership community, encouraging team interactions where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations while upholding service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Develop a solid understanding of Bodyism membership offerings, including Personal Training, Classes, and Treatments, to assist with member inquiries.

3. Team Leadership & Development

  • Assist the Operations Manager in recruiting talented individuals to join the cafe team.
  • Ensure all new team members receive thorough inductions and training on service standards, POS/reservation systems, and operational procedures.
  • Support the Operations Manager in staff scheduling to ensure adequate shift coverage.
  • Supervise and mentor the cafe team, providing immediate feedback and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Address team challenges and provide real-time solutions, escalating issues to management when necessary.

4. Compliance & Health & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety, hygiene, and company policy regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain high presentation standards for both the team and dining/public areas. Report any cleanliness, maintenance or operation issues to management.
  • Coordinate with cleaning staff and vendors for regular maintenance and urgent repairs.
  • Ensure that menus and allergen sheets are regularly reviewed and updated in compliance with health and safety standards, collaborating with the Operations Manager as necessary.
