Sous Chef – Join Our Award-Winning Team
Barge East is looking for a Sous Chef to join our 2 AA Rosette kitchen in Hackney Wick. Situated aboard a historic Dutch barge with a stunning riverside garden, we focus on sustainability, seasonality, and innovation in our modern British cuisine.
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 + tips

Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-quality environment
Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation
Manage stock control, ordering, and waste reduction to achieve GP targets
Assist in developing seasonal menus using local and homegrown produce
Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a 2 AA Rosette or higher venue
A passion for seasonal and sustainable cooking
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy kitchen
