Street Food Chef – Summer Contract

Barge East Gardens is seeking a Street Food Chef to run our busy riverside Street Kitchen for the summer season. Located in Hackney Wick, our vibrant outdoor dining venue serves high-quality, sustainable street food to a lively crowd.

Contract: 6-month summer role (April – September)
Pay: £14.00 – £18.00 per hour + tips

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the Street Kitchen
Lead and motivate a small kitchen team
Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
Manage stock, ordering, and waste reduction to meet GP targets
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a Chef in a high-volume street food or casual dining setting
Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Passion for sustainability and great food
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays (kitchen closes at 9:30 PM)
