After winning a writing competition back in 1972, Fay Maschler went on to work as the Evening Standard’s restaurant critic until 2020. In this interview with The Guardian, Maschler discusses how she got the job, what it was like being a female restaurant critic at the time, the unfolding of restaurants sine the early 70s and reflects on her career.
