A date for all our diaries

It was wonderful to see so many major players in the hospitality industry to come together to raise awareness of the #SeatAtTheTable petition – and as you may know, the number of signatures has now comfortably gone above those needed to make it official government business – more than 149,600 at time of writing. 

There is now a confirmed date for the debate on the matter of appointing a minister for hospitality; it’s 11 January 2021 at 4.30pm. For an industry that employs so many, has such a complex and wide-reaching benefit for the economy and gives so much to the quality of life for the nation, it’s vital that the debate gets the attention and length of discussion it deserves. 

So it’s over to all of us to make sure everyone we know has signed the petition – even though the mandated minimum number has been exceeded, more names will give the demand even more weight; the petition link is here.
