Acclaimed and much-loved chefs Angela Hartnett and José Pizarro are joining forces to launch a hospitality campaign on Bermondsey Street. After seeing how the #EatOutToHelpOut scheme unified restaurants, they decided to create the community-wide initiative “Shop, Eat and Drink.”
From Monday to Wednesday during September, many businesses have decided to continue discounts. Operators including Casse-Croûte, ramens pecialist Hakata and Italian seafood restaurant Baccalà join Hartnett’s Cafe Murano Bermondsey and Pizarro in offering 50% off on the days they are open.
Elsewhere, shops, cafes and bars are also getting involved. Lovely and British, Bermondsey 167 and Chopper Barbers will be offering 20% off during these days, with Giddy Grocer selling lunches for £4.
“Bermondsey Street has been a hub of activity for many months, with locals loyally supporting all the Bermondsey restaurants and independent businesses via takeaway and more recently through EOTHO” says Hartnett. “We’re proud to be a part of this community spirit and hope by all joining together during September, we can keep momentum going and the street buzzing.”
