Celebrated as one of CODE’s lockdown heroes, the Beyond Food foundation and the admirable Brigade offered a range of services including a 24/7 helpline, mental health counselling and a financial hardship fund to support hospitality workers during the pandemic.

Now, they’ve joined forces with career-development specialists Eyes Wide Opened for Made Again, a programme to help hospitality workers back into employment.

The series of 50 interactive, online workshops will help people to learn how to stand out in the job market, discover ways to adapt, utilise and explore their skills and build up confidence. Normally £150, donations from profits made through the sale of Beyond Food’s cookbook mean it will cost £50 per attendee.

“We’ve created the Made Again career development workshops as a way to offer a positive guiding light and a way for people to find their way back to a career they love” says Simon Boyle, chef and founder of Beyond Food.

Alastair Creamer from Eyes Wide Opened says that “from speaking to people, we realised no one was tackling their biggest concern – how can they move forward in a positive way to further their chances of employment?”, adding that Made Again will help people to “find the career path they want to take and spot the opportunities they have to go for it.”

The next workshop is on Wednesday and enrolment is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. For further information or to book a spot, visit the website here
