Coinciding with National Hospitality Day on 18 September, Chef and Restaurant Magazine have launched ‘Choose Hospitality,’ a new online initiative to raise more interest in hospitality careers.
The campaign, supported by celebrity chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Tom Kerridge, and James Martin, will become a “go-to resource for any person interested in a career in hospitality”.
The project’s three main focuses are: engage, resource, and support.
‘Engage’ will include a series of films made by professionals in the industry, “alongside global names” offering words on why you should choose a career in the sector.
‘Resource’ will be a platform providing career and employment advice, including video tutorials, case studies, and Q&As with leading industry figures.
‘Support’ will be a 100 per cent free of charge, digital publication for those interested in the hospitality industry.
Claire Bosi, Editor of Chef & Restaurant magazine, said: “Choose Hospitality is about the industry creating a bridge of communication directly to those who are training for a career in the sector, at the same time encouraging more school leavers and job-swaps to consider the profession.
“The response from all areas of hospitality has been fantastic, we have an incredible array of ambassadors and supporters – all 100 per cent behind this initiative who will remain with us throughout our journey to promote the excellence of UK Hospitality.”
An announcement from the team added: “As professionals, we all know how exciting, rewarding and vibrant working in hospitality can be. The time has come for the industry to promote this outward to the general public.”
