Showing no signs of slowing down, – even amidst a pandemic – D&D has now announced the details of its new Bristol restaurant. The Cabot Circus site Klosterhaus will open on 2 October, marking D&D’s first venture to the South West.
The group behind Orrery, Angler and Quaglino’s amongst many others has redeveloped an 18th century building to create an all-day restaurant spread over two floors. The restaurant features an outdoor terrace, as well as a number of event spaces.
Developed by executive chef Bjoern Wassmuth (from D&D London’s German Gymanisum) and inspired by head chef Bjoern’s German heritage, the food at Klosterhaus pays homage to classic European cafes and German favourites.
Guests can expect dishes including soused herring with caviar, authentic German chicken and veal schnitzel and sharing dishes such as slow roasted duck with potato dumpling. Brunch will also be on offer, and it wouldn’t be a German restaurant without an apple strudel…
“Bristol has a very excited food scene and I hope that we can contribute to and become part of it” says chairman and CEO of D&D London Des Gunewardena.” Meanwhile, general manager Robert Hobbs says “it will definitely be the place to get those perfect Instagram shots…”
