Very good news for Cambridge residents today, as they can now get Bombay comfort food from Dishoom delivered to their door. Available from 12pm to 10:30pm daily, a small menu of favourite Dishoom dishes will be on offer to many postcodes across the city.
With a growing number of fans outside of the capital, the Cambridge site marks it second regional delivery kitchen, following the success of Brighton last year. The team have picked a selection of dishes that can abide a little travel, with favourites including the house black daal, chicken ruby and jemmy Pau all on offer. There’s lots for veggies and vegans too, including samosas and jackfruit biryani.
There’s also special delivery-only dishes, including the newly-launched lunchtime Kathi Rolls – chicken or paneer wrapped in paratha – and pepper lamb curry. Customers can also take a selection of drinks away, such as Dishoom’s mango lassi, IPA and a selection of cocktails.
Dishoom donated 110,000 meals through their delivery kitchens alone last year. So, it’s good to hear that Dishoom will be extending its meal for a meal pledge to its Cambridge site, donating a meal to a child that might otherwise go hungry for every meal served.
It looks like their strategy of opening more delivery kitchens across the country is set to continue, as the team says it has allowed them to reach more guests nationwide and provide long-term security for the team. Watch this space.
