It’s certainly no cause for celebration, but the one-year anniversary of the first lockdown is fast approaching. To mark the occasion in a positive way, support charity Hospitality Action is launching a brilliant new cookbook – Chefs at Home.
A collection of lockdown recipes from 54 of the UK’s most loved chefs and many friends of CODE – including Jason Atherton, Clare Smyth, Robin Gill, James Cochran and Angela Hartnett – Chefs at Home will be released on 18 March. It’s filled with recipes the chefs have been making with their families at home, and dishes are simple and accessible for everyone – from home cooks to fellow chefs – to recreate.
“Behind our closed doors, we all did what we do best: we cooked. And cooked,” says Hospitality Action patron Jason Atherton. “So, when Hospitality Action asked us to contribute to Chefs at Home, we had lists of recipes as long as your arm to offer up. All the dishes in this book were conceived and cooked with love: think butties, Monster Munch and mash.”
In a year which has seen the hospitality industry decimated throughout the UK, Hospitality Action has continued to help those in the industry both emotionally and financially. The funds raised from the cookbook will be added to the fund and for that reason alone, it’s a worthwhile buy (although the recipes are great too!).
