Langan’s has not had the easiest time of it since its high-profile reopening. Rod Stewart was at the launch party and seemed to enjoy himself but not every review of the famous brasserie has been favourable.
That’s not to say they’ve been damning. Still, no doubt Langan’s is working on improvements. Ways to shake things up. Breakfast is possibly an unexpected turn but it’s happening nonetheless, and will launch on Monday 17 January.
An announcement is billing mornings at Langan’s as an ideal spot for “elegant business breakfasts, celebratory occasions or a quick bite before exploring central London.” This is hopefully a fair representation.
In the dining room will be classics like “eggs any style” – including Florentine, Royale, and Benedict – as well as modern must-haves such as avo on toast with pumpkin seeds and chilli oil. The cooked breakfast, featuring Tamworth pork, might prove to be a winner for hungover types in Mayfair. Of course there will be pancakes and acai bowls and almond milk dishes for the rest.
If the first four paragraphs were ostensibly cynical, relax. We only want Langan’s round two to live up to its potential and to fulfill its worth. Anyway, it’s still attracting the people it needs to – recent sightings include Poppy Delevingne, Kelly Hoppen, Pandora Sykes, Sir Michael Caine, and Dame Joan Collins.
