Launched in October last year by The Laughing Heart owner Charlie Mellor, delivery service Big Night hit its crowdfunding target in less than a day and counts Clerkenwell Boy among its investors. With the aim of bringing “exceptional dining experiences straight to your doorstep”, the platform has grown quickly, delivering everything from Snackbar to Mei Mei, Darjeeling Express to Legare.
Now, the popular Borough Market taqueria Tacos Padre has launched a new range of DIY taco kits available to purchase through Big Night – promising to bring some Mexican sunshine to diners’ doors in a month of grey skies. Chef Nick Fitzgerald will keep the site open selling hot food or takeaway on market days, but the new taco kits are available for nationwide delivery.
The four new kits all come with tortillas, salsa and all the usual toppings, and are between £27 and £32 for two people. There’s a choice of short-rib, lamb and avocado and pork with pickled red onions, as well as cauliflower with chilli oil for vegetarians.
Kits can be ordered direct via the tacos padre website or via Big Night, with deliveries going out every Friday. To find out more, visit the website here
