Owner of both the Woodsman in Stratford on Avon and gastropub of the year 2020 The Harwood Arms, Mike Robinson is heading to Bath for his latest opening. The Elder restaurant and bar launches on September 11 within the new Hotel Indigo Bath.
Following the hotel’s multi-million pound restoration project, the 60 cover restaurant will feature “authentic, honest and timeless British cooking.” Gavin Edney joins Robinson as group head chef , placing a focus on sustainability, seasonality and wild produce grown in The Elder’s garden.
Open for lunch and dinner, Robinson says “this will be very much a neighbourhood restaurant.” “We have put a lot of thought behind every element of the service to create a warm, relaxing spot with excellent food that’s tasty as hell!”
The Elder also has a bar offering, alongside a large terrace for outside drinking and dining, and a separate members club area opening next year.
