One of lockdown’s success stories, it was clear when we caught up with Mitshel Ibrahim of Ombra last year that there were big plans ahead for the Pastificio. One of the first restaurants to quickly adapt and start selling essentials to get us through lockdown, customers have enjoyed everything from fresh focaccia and tiramisu to freshly made sauce, pasta and even homemade hand sanitiser.
Its takeaway and delivery food has been very well received – so now, the team are taking Ombra’s fresh pastas and more nationwide. The Italian restaurant is supplying cafés, restaurant and shops across London with its rigatoni, bigoli and ravioli filled with burrata and truffle at wholesale prices. In north London, Ombra’s wholesale products are available in Maison Bleu, Esters and Weino Bib, as well as Trude’s Grocery south of the river and various locations in east London – including Balcone and Hill & Szrok.
For customers cooking at home, the bake-at-home lasagne and a range of seasonal sauces are still available, as well as cook-a-long videos via Ombra’s online shop to follow along with. There are also collaborations to look forward to, as Ombra looks to join forces with Natoora, Neal’s Yard Dairy, Henderson Seafood and more.
