Any eagle-eyed Bulletin subscribers may have already spotted new opening Sidechick under the careers section. From the team behind Patty & Bun, Sidechick became a lockdown success story, establishing itself as a delivery-only brand last year. Good news for its fans, as now Sidechick is going permanent with its first bricks and mortar restaurant.
A true Sidechick, the roast chicken concept is located next to Patty and Bun in Marylebone and will open its doors in May. The menu is small and places a focus on good quality and seasonal ingredients. Corn-fed chicken is the star of the show, but there’s also salads, flatbreads, vegetables and other sides, too. The drinks menu focuses on showcasing natural wines and cocktails.
Split over two floors, with a dining area on the ground floor and a second dining room below, the restaurant will seat 50 indoors and 20 outdoors. “This site is absolutely perfect for Sidechick’s first foray into bricks and mortar dining,” says founder Joe Grossman. “Hospitality faces an uncertain future, so we are doing all we can to create jobs and bring diners new concepts to look forward to in the coming weeks, months, and years.”
