New neighbourhood wine bar, shop and kitchen Peckham Cellars is opening on 19 November, providing yet another reason to venture south of the river.

Behind the new opening are three friends, who also happen to be Peckham locals, making it their mission to create the neighbourhood’s go-to spot to enjoy food and wine.

Co-owner Helen Hall, previously chef of Spring and Rovi, will oversee the kitchen alongside head chef Jay Claus, previously at Quo Vadis, Morito and BAO. Ben McVeigh, former head sommelier of 28-50 Fetter Lane, will be curating the wine list.

Alongside their extensive selection of wines and cocktail list, Peckham Cellars will also be open for dinner on weekdays and lunch on the weekend. Dishes teased on their Instagram include pistachio crumbed sardines, charred tenderstem brocoli served with coco beans, tahini and chermoula, and charcuterie. The restaurant will use South London suppliers, such as Smoke and Cure, for their mostly British menu.

Peckham Cellars opens on 19 November at 125 Queens Road, Peckham, London, SE15 2ND. For more information, visit their website here
