Ramen reaches out

Published 20 November 2020

Even at a time when restaurants aren’t allowed to physically serve guests, it’s comforting to hear and share the news of exciting openings across the capital. This time it’s good news for Walthamstow locals and ramen lovers alike, as Tonkotsu will be launching its newest branch on Hoe Street next week.

Bringing its signature ramen bowls and gyoza to E17 for the first time, the restaurant will initially be open for click and collect service. Tonkotsu’s 12th site will stay true to its “if you don’t make your own noodles, you’re just a soup shop” mantra, serving its signature ramen each day with noodles made in house.

There’s gyoza on offer too, as well as chicken cara-age and chicken wings. And don’t worry vegetarians, you haven’t been forgotten. The team will be showcasing a new vegan cauliflower version of those wings…

We’ll need to toast to (hopefully) getting through another lockdown and drinks include a sake made specially for the restaurant by the Tsuji Brewery in Okayama, alongside a selection of Japanese wines, whiskeys and cocktails.
