Robin Gill is being exciting again and will be adding to his buzzing list of hospitality enterprises in the coming months.
Bottle + Rye, a wine bar, will arrive on Market Row in Brixton in “spring”. Details beyond this are sparse for now but a teasing post on Instagram said the place has been two years in the making. “The team is made up of some incredible chefs and FOH members who have been part of the family for some time”.
Also upcoming, in June 2022, is Maria G’s, an Italian restaurant in Kensington inspired by Robin’s time spent in the south of Italy, particularly in a fishing village called Marina Del Cantone.
The food will focus on Italy’s southern dishes in the summer before shifting toward northern specialities in the winter. A full launch menu has not yet been revealed but an announcement talked of cicchetti, fresh pasta, and house-cured salamis.
Dishes might be ricotta agnolotti with wild rocket and baby purple artichoke, and red mullet from Penzance, in west Cornwall, alongside Amalfi lemon and wild fennel aioli.
