On Tuesday 8 March, Sally Abé will bring together a line-up of female chefs at The Pem in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Joining Abé to prepare a three course lunch are Andi Oliver, Sandia Chang, Ali Ross, Fikayo Ifaturot, and Emma Banks. The restaurant’s head chef Laetizia Keating, and general manager Emma Underwood, will help steer the ship.
Punctuating a panel discussion between chefs will be dishes such as smoked chalk stream trout mousse, and roast Cumbrian rose veal. The conversation will touch on issues that impact women in hospitality, including workplace environments, motherhood, female empowerment and the media presence of women in the industry.
This event is the first in a series of female-focused events that are being planned by Abé and Conrad London St. James’s general manager, Beverley Payne.
International Women’s day is celebrated each year, and is marked as “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased here. If you’re under 25, you can get discounted tickets (£25pp), and Abé is also gifting tickets to hospitality and catering students at local Westminster Kingsway College.
CODE’s 100 Most Influential Women in Hospitality is back for 2022, and more details on how to nominate will be coming in due course.
