The Hoxton to open in Rome

Published 16 December 2019

The Hoxton has announced that Rome will be the location of the brand’s 10th hotel. The Hoxton, Rome will be their 6th in Europe, and will feature 192 bedrooms, a large coffee bar and takeaway counter, restaurant and outdoor terrace.

The hotel will be situated in Solario just north of the centre and off the city’s main tourist trail. The area is filled with art museums, delicatessens and trattorias, and The Hoxton will be a short distance from landscape garden and park Villa Borghese.

Ennismore Design Studio is working in collaboration with Fettle Design to transform the building and make it consistent with The Hoxton’s style, taking cues from the building’s 1970’s design details. The team are taking inspiration from the entryways of the buildings in the surrounding neighbourhood, as well as their marble clad walls and vibrant terazzo floors.

The 192 bedrooms will feature bold colours alongside local stones and lacquered timbers to reference mid-century Italian design. Alongside a statement headboard and brass light fittings, some of the larger rooms will also feature original Murano glass chandeliers.

The announcement comes off the back of a successful year for the brand, having opened in Chicago, Southwark and Downtown LA in 2019. The Hoxton first opened in Shoreditch in 2006, and have since provided neighbourhood locations for guests to submerse themselves alongside locals and relax.

The Hoxton, Rome will open at Largo Benedetto Marcello, 220, 00198, Roma, Italy
