On Friday November 8, TOZI is set to open in the Dutch capital. This marks the first move outside of London for the Venetian-inspired cicchetti restaurant, led by Head Chef Maurilio Molteni and Restaurant manager Stefano Meloni.
The name ‘TOZI’ derives from the local Venetian dialect for ‘a group of friends’, reflecting its unique and intimate sharing concept inspired by the dining culture and ethos of the Veneto region of Italy.
TOZI will be situated adjacent to Vondelpark in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid and the interiors will focus on natural, earthy textures. The restaurant also pays homage to its Italian roots, with touches such as family recipe books, traditional scales and even a classic Fiat 500 on display.
Alongside the restaurant, which will serve TOZI’s signature dishes such as ‘Cacio e Pepe’, cooked for diners at their tables, the new site will also feature a bar to wind down in, serving a rang of classic Italian gins, vermouth and liquors.
Commenting on the opening, Head Chef at TOZI London Murilio Molteni said ‘opening a second TOZI is testament to the success of our flagship in London, and we are very excited to serve our famous dishes to the people of Amsterdam.’
TOZI opens on Friday November 8 at Koninginneweg 34-36, 1075 CZ Amsterdam
