8am – Warehouse wake up
Native aparthotel at Ducie Street Warehouse is an ideal place to base yourself – on the edge of the NQ, right by the station and fully kitted out apartment style rooms make it super convenient. It’s a huge, airy old warehouse building with incredible views over the Pennines too.

11am – Fuel at Federal
Federal NQ – Aussie sunshine in a cup (cheesy, sorry) but the staff smile, the Portuguese owner makes sure there are pastel de nata alongside the Anzac biscuits and great breakfasts – you can’t help but leave happy.

2pm – Slurp stop
Cocktail Beer Ramen Bun- Squashed on a busy bus route through the NQ is CBRB which has nailed on its food/service/booze so beautifully. They do half size ramen (Tantanmen all day) so you can have a bao on the side and a wine at lunch without needing a lie down.

4pm – Pick up the pace
I love Barry’s Bootcamp; they arrived in Manchester a couple of years ago and the workout is great but I’d be lying if I said the best bit wasn’t the showers. It’s got to be Albert’s Schloss – it’s manic and noisy, the music is live and the drinks get spilled but you will have fun in this Bavarian bier palace even if you’re the most miserable soul alive.

I know this is a massive treat but you’re on holiday…Gooey are making the best cookies and doughnuts going. Special flavours every weekend and served from a little cabin in the entrance of the Native hotel. Take a box for whomever waits at home – you’ll be popular.
