We came to the Gladwin Brothers’ King’s Road restaurant because we were looking for somewhere that feels cosy. Also delicious food. Food that’s been carefully sourced and prepared. Also friendly, knowledgeable service that reassures you you’re in good hands. Partial to a crisp English white wine too….we don’t ask for much! Luckily Rabbit has it all and their set menu for Chelsea Flower Show week was irresistible – the trio of amuse bouches (marmite mushroom eclair might just be my desert island snack), the spiced cauliflower & pinot noir gel, a bottle of their own Nutbourne Bacchus. Rabbit have two very satisfied diners indeed!

It’s always a treat to go to The River Café, which is why it’s a perfect place to have your birthday supper. On Wednesday, the Hammersmith restaurant was heaving – both inside and out – and after some Billecart-Salmon and focaccia, it was onto a plate of beef carpaccio with Harry’s Bar sauce followed by pasta with rabbit. Needless to say a chocolate nemesis was ordered too.

I attended a preview of a new Sake masterclass series that is launching at Sumosan Twiga in Knightsbridge. Located on the top floor of the Japanese restaurant, the classes are taken by sake expert, Marie Cheong-Thong who guides you through a selection of fine sake, and the processes of how they’re created. All the wines are perfectly paired with favourites from the Sumosan Twiga menu, such as wasabi prawns, Kobe sliders, and a sashimi platter. I hear their Uptown Brunch is fun too!

An uber cool Asian chicken joint and bar from the restaurateurs behind TĀ TĀ Eatery where vibey music gets you in the mood to seek out a Soho bar post dinner. It’s a small plates kind of place and honestly everything on the menu is pretty outstanding but the daikon cake and Sichuan burger were the real MVP’s for me.

Invited to lunch at Jolene to catch up with my cousin and talk all things regenerative farming with her partner who works for Wildfarmed. Naturally (scuse pun) he took us to Jolene – firm believers in their mission and doing incredible things with their flour. Sourdough Focaccia was the perfect balance of crisp top vs fluffy middle with that nutty aftertaste you’re only treated to if they’ve used quality grain and slow fermentation. Leftover saffron broth used to cook chickpeas & chard provided great moppage. To finish, classic orange polenta cake and a toffee cake I could’ve scoffed on my own if there was a moment when no one was looking!

It’s not everyday a business turns 25, so it was an honour to be invited to dinner at Elystan St to celebrate Maureen Mill’s achievement with her business Network London. After a glass or two of Dom Perignon 2010, Phil Howard served up a feast. A daunting task perhaps considering the likes of Claude Bosi, Andre Garrett, Fay Maschler and Grace Dent were in the room.

I’ve been visiting the original Cecconi’s since I was a child and it’s always been a firm favourite of mine in London. Everything from the friendly staff to the hearty Northern Italian food make for a great experience. Perfectly located in Mayfair, just off New Bond Street, the restaurant is perfect for a post-shopping supper (with an aperol spritz in hand of course!) I like to sit at the bar to eat, and I hear this is Beyoncé’s preferred place to sit too!
