We can’t visit restaurants yet, but the CODE team will still be sharing the best things we ate from home.
Floozie is a vegan stuffed cookie concept from Kimberly Lin (Claridges, Corinthia, Dominique Ansel) that can be ordered nationwide. The box of 6 is a real treat – beautifully packaged and containing one of each of the signature cookies. From cinnamon crunch and chocolate chunk, to PB & J (homemade peanut butter cookie stuffed full of raspberry jam and slathered in icing drizzle and toasted peanuts) the flavours are that bit of fun we’re all craving. We’ve been nibbling the edges of our cookies a little bit everyday to get us through the week. Our favourite is the pecan pie – a butterscotch masterpiece studded with toasted pecans and stuffed with a glorious soft date caramel.

Atcha are all about a refreshing approach to Indian food, serving meals that are healthy but still have all the spice, heat and freshness of Indian food that we love. From their kitchen in Hackney the Atcha team are cooking up WFH lunches of epic proportions: the no-butter chicken bowl is spicy and satisfying but still light, the cauli sarnie with curried cauliflower and masala cashew mayo is a very welcome difference from the endless cheese toasties that have been indicative of my lockdown lunches. And the best news is they deliver London wide via Slerp.

An at-home kit with a twist, the hampers from Iberica feel like they’ve been personally picked out, packed up and sent to you by a (very good) friend. Filled with ingredients such as sweet smoked paprika, artichoke hearts, piquillo peppers and hazelnuts, there’s a few simple recipes included so you can recreate a Spanish feast at home. We made the vegetable rice – and once you cook the vegetables all you have to do is leave it to simmer and wait. Forgot boil in the bag rice and bland risottos, this is the real deal.

Yes there are quite a few burger kits out there, but for something really deliciously simple to put together, the Honest Burgers box takes some beating. We absolutely loved the soft brioche, very good patties, generous amounts of cheese, even more generous amounts of relish, pickles, and some rosemary salt if we could be bothered to make some chips (we couldn’t). Really love this kit – and good value too.

The impressive packaging, very good quality produce, easy instructions, and delicious results, made this a winner. I hadn’t been to the Tacos Padre restaurant, but this kit promises is a great deal for when I can visit. Loved the lamb barbecoa, and in fact although it was for 2, there was enough for three of us to have a really fun little feast. I’d advise you to go easy on the mega hot chilli sauce, if you order!
