About Us
The Villa Bologna Restaurant is an authentic Italian trattoria offering classic Italian cuisine with friendly service in the beautiful gardens of Villa Bologna and is one of Malta’s leading restaurants. Next year we are opening Casa Bonavita Hotel, a historic 18th Century palazzo, that is being meticulously restored and transformed into a one-of-a-kind 17 room-and-suite-boutique hotel and restaurant.
The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Restaurant Manager to join our group and run the restaurants at Casa Bonavita and The Villa Bologna Restaurant. As the Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the front of house operation of the two restaurants and coordinating and optimising the restaurants for events.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities, be passionate about food, drinks and the hospitality industry and be able to motivate a large team. We are looking for a professional who is capable of making decisions, has attention to detail and is confident in all situations.
Your role is to make sure that our customers have an exceptional and memorable experience every time they come.
Main Roles
- Oversee the Front of House operations and leading the service team to ensure company standards are met
- Active support of employees in the service flow
- Maintain the food & service standards, and the product knowledge to the highest standard
- Ensure maximal revenue and profit are achieved from all sales opportunities
- Monitor the weekly food, beverage, variable and wage costs to ensure they are in line with the budget
- Review feedback to ensure we are offering the best experience
Support and assist in the employee life cycle: attraction, recruitment, onboarding, training, motivation, performance management and retention
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Must have 3+ years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager with a proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation in a fast paced and demanding environment
- Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills
- Must have staff development experience
